Of course, it was a misunderstanding, as Ganesh was created to watch the door of a goddess while she bathed. When her husband returned, he found this stranger denying him access, and struck off his head, later replacing it with the closest head he could find: an elephant. Sounds a bit like a soap opera of the gods, don’t you think?
